Our History Constructed as a restaurant by J Pullan & Sons Ltd in the early 1970s, the business was bought by the current owner's father in 1981 and refocused as a fish & chip restaurant with out-sales. Throughout the rest of the decade the restaurant established its reputation for high quality fish & chips and a position in the market as a destination known simply as 'The Mermaid'. In 1997, the restaurant passed from father to son and a fourth generation of fish & chip owner-operators was born.
